Pat Lynch, New Volunteer of the Year Award 2014
Hidden behind stacks of documents with his fingers flying over the computer keyboard, Pat Lynch throws himself into his work when he volunteers at the Center. A forceful advocate, Pat helps vulnerable mothers and fathers face their legal dilemmas with support and confidence. “I always know that I am doing something positive for a client,” he adds.
After 40 years of honing his skills as a civil litigator at O’Melveny & Myers, Pat uses his vast experience to untangle complicated legal issues for the benefit of poor families. “I’m pro-kid,” he states, and his experience raising 10 children has motivated him to help figure out what’s in a child’s best interest in custody cases and much more.
Betty Nordwind, the Center’s Executive Director, compares having Pat as a volunteer to “like having a Mercedes-Benz running in the garage” ready for the next case.
