How We Help:

With the help of volunteers, the Center provides free family related legal assistance and legal education to low-income people who need help solve legal problems involving custody of children, spousal and child support, paternity and restraining orders.

We assist low-income people who can show they:

  • have limited funds, with proof of their income, and
  • live in Los Angeles County, and
  • have a family or domestic violence problem.

The kinds of cases we handle include:

  • Determining custody and visitation rights of children
  • Obtaining restraining orders protecting people
  • Collecting child support
  • Establishing parentage for unmarried parents
  • Obtaining a divorce
  • Establishing rights to community and separate property
  • Collecting spousal support
